Weather & Climate

It doesn’t really matter what season you choose to visit the region, the climate is pretty comfortable for travel — cool to mild in winter, warm to hot in summer, and you’ll find spring and autumn lovely and mild.

The Light Region includes part of the Barossa Valley, lies about 60-70 kilometres from the sea, and is located within South Australia’s coastal temperate zone.

When you’re planning your packing to visit Light Region, think ‘layering’ and you should be fine. Nights can be cold, so bring a warm coat and a beanie in winter. And an umbrella. And for that summer sun, a sunhat and cool linen shirt will keep you protected.

  • Spring (September – November)
  • Summer (December – February)
  • Autumn (March – May)
